Dr. Bita Amanda Farhoumand is a board-certified periodontist and implantologist in Encinitas. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology with Distinction from the University of Virginia and attended UCLA School of Dentistry, where she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. She then completed her specialty training at New York University, earning her certificate in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry.
"It all started with a horrible toothache. My regular dentist was on vacation and I couldn't wait, so after two days of pain my friend recommended Dr. Bita. It turned out that under my crown, my tooth was infected and broken and had to be removed. I was so scared! Dr. Bita scheduled me right away for the next morning and extracted the bad tooth. I was traveling that same afternoon, and she sent me off with antibiotics, ibuprofen, and a medical rinse, and I was feeling pretty good. I decided to continue with Dr. Bita for my dental implant, and I am so glad I did. "My dentist referred me to Dr. Bita for a gum tissue graft. I was really nervous at first since it was my first oral surgery, but Dr. Bita answered all of my questions and made me feel comfortable and at ease. Instead of taking tissue from the roof of my mouth, she used a special type of graft, which I appreciated. Overall, the procedure was quick and painless. The numbing was the only uncomfortable part, but that’s to be expected. I was also pleasantly surprised by how easy the recovery was. I only needed to take ibuprofen. I’m very happy with the results and can already see that my gums now properly cover the areas of recession I had before."
